Marine oils must have superior corrosion protection against salt water, enhanced oxidation stability at sustained high RPM, and detergents formulated for the specific combustion byproducts of 4-stroke outboard engines.

The Carbo Oil 4T Marine 10W30 is suited for 4-stroke outboard motors in the 2.5 HP to 300 HP range. Confirmed compatible brands: **Yamaha F series** (F20/F40/F60/F100 — Yamalube genuine is 10W30 NMMA FC-W), **Honda Marine BF series** (Honda Marine Oil is 10W30), and **Mercury FourStroke** and **Tohatsu MFS** series. **Important Suzuki note:** Suzuki DF-series outboards (DF25/DF40/DF60/DF115) officially recommend **10W40** Suzuki Marine 4-Cycle Oil. Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki all recommend oil changes every 100 hours of operation or once per season — whichever comes first — for 4-stroke outboards. For Indian coastal use where salt spray and high humidity are constant, err towards the 100-hour interval regardless of season length. For boats used in backwaters and inland rivers (Kerala, Assam, West Bengal), where silt and freshwater contamination is higher, a 75-hour interval is advisable.
