Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the FS and SUPER-FS range?

The key upgrade is the API certification: FS carries API SL (an older standard), while SUPER-FS carries API SN — two generations newer. API SN introduces stricter limits on deposit formation, piston cleanliness, and phosphorus content, which protects the engine's emission systems. If your motorcycle was made after 2014, the SUPER-FS is the correct choice. It also has a more robust additive package for better wear protection at high RPM.

Is Carbo Oil SUPER-FS 10W30 suitable for Hero Splendor, Bajaj Pulsar, and Honda Unicorn?

Yes. The SUPER-FS 10W30 is matched to the OEM requirements of most popular 100cc–200cc Indian motorcycles including Hero Splendor Plus/Super Splendor, Bajaj Pulsar 125/150, Honda CB Shine/Unicorn 150, TVS Apache 160, and Yamaha FZ-S. All of these are JASO MA2 manual-gearbox bikes that run well on a 10W30 API SN oil.

Does SUPER-FS 10W30 improve fuel economy compared to thicker grades?

Yes, noticeably. A 10W30 oil creates less internal drag than 10W40 or 20W40, which translates to a small but measurable improvement in fuel efficiency — typically 1–3% in real-world urban riding. This matters in India where fuel costs are a significant factor for daily commuters covering 50–100 km per day. The reduction in viscous drag also means your engine runs cooler at the same load.

What is the recommended oil change interval for SUPER-FS 10W30?

For API SN semi-mineral oil in Indian riding conditions, change the oil every 4,000–5,000 km or every 4 months — whichever comes first. The SUPER-FS formulation has better oxidation resistance than the FS line, so it retains its protective properties longer. However, in heavy stop-and-go traffic or dusty roads, the lower end of this range is advisable.
