Frequently Asked Questions

What does "10W30" mean and why does it matter for my motorcycle?

The "10W" means the oil flows like a thin 10-weight oil during cold start, ensuring your engine gets lubrication instantly before it warms up. The "30" is the operating viscosity at 100°C — thinner than 40 or 50 grades, which reduces friction and improves fuel economy. 10W30 is best for motorcycles used in moderate temperatures (10°C–40°C) and for commuter bikes ridden in city traffic.

Which bikes is the 4T Motorradöl FS 10W30 best suited for?

This oil is ideal for everyday commuter motorcycles with 100cc–200cc engines — Hero Splendor, HF Deluxe, Honda CB Shine, TVS Star City, Bajaj CT100/Platina, and similar bikes. It is designed for 4-stroke engines with a wet clutch and manual gearbox (JASO MA2 certified). Not recommended for scooters with automatic transmissions.

Why is JASO MA2 certification important for my bike's gearbox?

Indian motorcycles with a manual gearbox share the same oil between the engine and the wet clutch. Using oil that isn't JASO MA2 certified (for example, car engine oil or scooter oil marked JASO MB) will cause clutch slippage. Carbo Oil FS 10W30 is JASO MA2 certified, which means it maintains the friction coefficient required to keep your clutch engaging cleanly without slip.

How often should I change the Carbo Oil FS 10W30 in my motorcycle?

For API SL-grade mineral oil, we recommend an oil change every 3,000–4,000 km or every 3 months — whichever comes first. Riding in dusty conditions (common in Indian towns) or frequent stop-start city traffic will increase oil contamination faster, so lean toward the lower interval. Always change the oil filter at the same time.
